Some comparisons of CDN with AVNT products (copied from the Yahoo thread, comments welcome):

Here is brief major market compare:

Simulation - CDN owns market and better products. The Frontline stuff has never excelled. CDN has completely closed
technology gap vs. SNPS VCS.

Formal - AVNT's Chrysallis is old stuff and being beat by new a startup for comparison checking. Model check - CDN the
winner with its BLDA.

Analog Sim - dead heat in market (Spectre vs HSPICE)

Place&Route - technically very close, AVNT has the edge in ease-of-use. CDN has the best chance at future winnings and the lawsuit may reverse and AVNT advantages fastly.

DRC/ERC - CDN has lost the ball with market lead, but both company is losing market a bit. MENT's Calibre has the edge.

Physical Design/Manuf Simulation - AVNT has TMA stuff, CDN has nothing today.

Synthesis, PCB Layout, Emulation - AVNT has no products where CDN is very strong across board. There are major dollars spent in these areas.

What did I forget?
