>> are we slicing this issue too thinly. King Arthur, what say you?

I think a lot of very smart guys, who have done an awful lot of dd on the topic, feel very strongly about Rambus. I think the GG is a guide, and not a Bible. I think you have a long investment window, and can afford to take some calculated risks without risking permanent injury.

From my conservative perspective, rdram has not yet crossed the Chasm, but this is a unique situation; the most powerful of the Enabling Gorillas is creating the Tornado for a member of its own value chain. I am not aware of any precedent which would allow us to to evaluate this scenario, and the manual doesn't address it.

Are you guys early? Probably. Are there possibilities for incredible returns? Absolutely. Is is riskier than a "normal" Gorilla play? Yes.

Good luck, and make sure to make regular reports on your returns. It will be a good learning experience for the whole thread.

Moore has said that the chasm is crossed with "widespread adoption". While a "toehold" makes sense to me, "toeholds" and "widespread adoption" seem incongruent.

I don't remember those specific terms. Instead, I focus on the marketplace adopting (or not yet adopting) the product in niche markets. The niche markets are analagous to the pins in the bowling alley.

In each or some of the niches the product might experience micro-hypergrowth. That's not to be confused with macro-hypergrowth which becomes evident in the start of the tornado.
