All, Seagate ran a four page tout for their company in the Wall Street Journal this morning. This is really quite remarkable, but is it smart? I have felt for several months now that Seagate was trying to reshape the disk drive industry. Steve Luczo views himself as the man that can do it ala Andy Grove or Bill Gates. The add even has a picture of him sitting confidently in his chair. In my opinion, the underlying message here is to other industry participants. They had better realize that this man means business. I don't expect the price war to moderate. -Robert
