Sam,
Why different? Because high capacity bandwidth changes the game from local to network storage. Volume is at desktop-margin is at enterprise-- it is a new ballgame (and has been since the 56k modem made downloads half bearable).
Fewer heads/drive-suspensions/drive-platters/drive--price is king rather than cutting edge (bleeding edge) technology is king.

Sam, the two investment related phrases that send me to the
hills are...

"it's different this time" and
"this is only the beginning".

I suggest we get MS interested in the DD business.
Then in a year or so all drives will sell for $89
and there will be only MS and Iomega in magnetic
storage.
