I think, IMO, that you may be confusing the Japanese government with the Japanese consumers. They, unlike the government, are loaded up to the gills with savings - unlike us over here. Add to this their huge trading surpluses, greater transparency in financial reporting (plus fuller disclosure). We may just see the beginnings of a return of the domestic investor to the market. By the way, my post to Borb, just before this gives, I think, a good indication of the way the Japanese psyche is changing as regards intellectual curiosity in electronics and software - as distinct from their superb manufacturing and marketing skills.
