Frank - I think the blame for the widespread panic also has to be placed on the average investor, who initiates trades based on headlines and not the underlying text...For the past few days there have been numerous posts regarding the manipulation of Greenspan's comments by the press...I'm not defending A.G, but his comments weren't that hawkish, and I am confident that the last thing on his agenda is initiating a liquidity crisis in financial markets, with Y2K liquidity concerns already mounting...economic data will hold the key over the next few weeks.
