I'd recommend staying out of the cemetaries, at least the ones close to the French Quarter. They've become a good place to get mugged. Are you going with a group? That might be safe. Or you could visit ones that are further from the French Quarter.

Tell me what you like to do ~ eating is, of course, sublime in New Orleans. When we go, we have to orient ourselves to the children, so we go to museums, the Zoo and the aquarium. I like the ferry ride you can take from the foot of Canal Street across the river, and back, it's free, and you get a great view of the river. A lot of people like the river boat rides up and down river, I've never taken one, myself.

Do you like to gamble? Shop? Listen to music?

Anything to recommend?

It is said these days it is not best to go to the cemeteries unless with a tour group. Although maybe this has changed since I read it not so long ago. There are a lot of muggings in the cemeteries.
