IGT Pharma appoints new diretor IGT Pharma Inc IGT Shares issued 8,819,820 1999-08-31 close $0.65 Wednesday Sep 1 1999 Mr. Bruce Schmidt reports Dr. Jean-Paul St. Pierre has been appointed to the board of directors. With a successful career as a practising medical specialist, Dr. St. Pierre entered the pharmaceutical industry in 1986 with Sandoz Canada Inc. After rising to the position of vice-president of scientific development, he went on in 1993 to join Hoechst-Roussel Canada Inc. in the role of vice-president of medical affairs. In 1995, Dr. St. Pierre assumed the position of executive vice-president, of scientific affairs, Hoechst Marion Roussel Canada Research Inc. and in 1997, Dr. St. Pierre moved to Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Co. in the United States to take the position of vice-president of worldwide clinical development. Subsequently, Dr. St. Pierre has become active in Vancouver's burgeoning biotechnology industry as president and chief executive officer of Synapse Technologies Inc. "With IGT's recent advancements in its drug development program, Dr. St. Pierre's association with IGT will be of timely strategic benefit in the planning of partnering relationships with multinational pharmaceutical companies," commented Dr. Ken Curry, IGT's vice-president of research and development.
