Disagree. Things often change with the passage of time. I remember in my college days, drunk driving and the use of drugs in general was kind of a joke and neither was treated as seriously as either is today. Hell, when my grandmother was growing up, the "n" word was a perfectly acceptable way to refer to black people. Times change and so does what is socially acceptable. Also, youth will tend to make mistakes and they should be forgiven or at least not looked upon as harshly because they are made without the benefit of a more mature life experience to color the decision making process. We learn as we go through life and hopefully get better at the game as we move along. JLA

Why should we start pardoning drug criminals in Texas? Because the governor refuses to answer an inane question from an inane group of reporters?

Oh, that's a good reason alright. Should we pardon all rapists and perjurers across the U.S. too?
