"the fact that free technology is sitting on the shelf unused should tell you something"

It does, Dan. It tells me that one of three things has happened:

1. The technology can't be that good or in an efficient market it would be used.

2. No one with any capital resources is championing that technology. Why? If it is that good, Intel, AMD, someone would take it and run with it for future use. Why would someone do this for an expensive, flawed technology like Rambus, but not for a great, free architecture like SLDRAM?

3. Whatever that technology offers, no one wants it.
