Yes, that is the incredible thing about the whales... their ability to move such great mass in such a graceful way. I was surprised by the slowness and smoothness of their movements... very little wake from them as they slipped in and out of the ocean while maneuvering close to the ships. The whale that was rising far out of the ocean in great leaps seemed frozen in the air for seconds. Trails of water and spray shone like a silvery mist around him. I noticed that many of the people around me were cheering... swept up by the excitement of the moment.
