DVx was under represented at NAB....................

Pinnacle introduced the lowest cost dual-stream yet, based on an MPEG-2 codec chip from C-Cube. The maximum data-rate of the $2,500 DC1000 is limited, however, below ProMPEG levels. Pinnacle has also enabled IB-frame editing within Premier to reduce storage and bandwidth requirements and so run on low-cost PCs.

Pinnacle is obviously going for a lower market than Matrox with its $6,000 Digitsuite DTV (also C-Cube based). Its card supports two streams of MPEG-2 or DV at up to 50Mbps -- a level endorsed by the EBU. Given the popularity of this C-Cube silicon it was surprising that no more products like the Digisuite DTV appeared at NAB.
