Encoding times are from the text of the article which state the time to encode a 30 second test file. Their table shows the same times but state "Encoding Time for 5 Minutes". I think it's in error. Also note, the prices do not include the capture hardware price just includes (in most cases) AVI to MPEG conversion and the associated application to do this. And remember the ATI/Cube MPEG Codec card is $199. I would suspect it has a video-in port, encodes realtime and the quality is pretty darn good.
