Thanks for the reassurance! I was worried I would have my thumb HACKED. So do they test for thumb temp, or how do they know the thumb is not severed and dead? I hope its not be temp because up here in Canada I have frequently walked up to an ATM with numb nearly frozen fingers that would be deemed near dead - hehehe! At least they sure felt like it!

Sorry, I seperated the biometric authentication from the function of encryption. Your right in that I havent investigated too much on what exact features some biometric systems had, but built in VPN or an encryption method is good to hear.

The walk up hacker is still a possibility even though somewhat low. The better way would be for each transaction to be authenticated by the biometric system. Then no walkup hack could occur. But it all depends on the type of e-commerce that is being protected. Some e-commerce is not worth all the protection that could be thrown onto it.

The security must match the value of the transaction.
