Nihil,

On Sun Micro, FWIW, I've changed my stance on them and believe, like you, that they can continue to clean up because of the Internet explosion, probably for quite a while. 2 things changed my mind:

1. Recalling Craig Barrett's statement that only 5% of the servers that will be needed for the Internet by 2001 (or 2002, don't remember exactly) are out there now. 95% to go represents a huge opportunity for companies that have servers ready now and are ugrading. That would include, to me, Sun's E-series, aka Starfire, Intel based Xeon and upcoming IA64 (we all know about them), and S390 from IBM and compatibles.

2. Sun announced yesterday that they are doubling their server manufacturing capacity.

ML added Sun to their focus list, I heard on CNBC early today. This is not why I flipped, but they certainly have clue, influence these days (esp. on the stock price).

Now I have to figure out at what price to buy Sun (also IBM and maybe Dell). I do understand the server business better than I understand any tech area, so why aren't I using knowledge to make some money (Intel, great, but there are others). Oh, IBM and Sun, (Dell too?) may take Y2K lockdown, or at least fear of same, hits in the next few months, providing the buying op I seek.
