MSFT's monopoly is not resource limited. There are plenty of programmers and plenty of money out there to overcome MSFT's "monopoly" and when someone builds a better system and markets it better they will prevail. The government has failed to show abuse. The spirited tales of interoffice EMails and disputations surrounding same do not a case make. Note well how SUNW is disclaiming that they are taking MSFT on in a vain attempt to preserve their case in court. I used to own a Mac and when Win 98 came along I switched as the MSFT system was now more stable and feature filled and open to many more apps than my Mac. The peripherals and O/S cost less as well and the support is better. Also I used NSCP exclusively as my browser until IE 5.0 yet I never paid for any as I downloaded all my NSCP browsers for free. There simply is no abuse. I own an HP my son owns a CPQ and my machine is less clunky because it has been screwed around with as much as his CPQ in terms of OEM messing with the O/S. It is not unreasonable for MSFT to curtail modifications to its O/S engine as they are the ones who suffer when it doesn't work. All the auto manufacturers do the same. JFD
