I live near one of the most affluent communities in the state. The older section, developed in the 60's, has relatively modest homes (by today's standards) on large heavily wooded lots. Many houses are invisible from the street. These people were clearly interested in privacy.

The newest section, developed in the 90's, has enormous barn like structures cheek by jowl with each other on tiny barren lots. These people are clearly interested in showing off.

One that I pass every day has a vast deck and cathedral sized windows, staring out on the area's main east west traffic artery. I just don't get it.

I clearly have more in common with the 60's folks than this 90's bunch.
