Ram, Ticker: There are TWO distinct events occurring regarding Eveready, which have sometimes been confused.

The first event is the SALE of the 'Energizer Power Solutions' (EPS) division of Eveready. This sale is still projected to be completed before the end of September, at the latest, according to public commentary from both Eveready and RAL. (RAL's fiscal year ends Sept. 30 and they would like to clear the books.) Once this sale is completed, I fully expect we will hear about EPS' plans for using Valence cells, as indicated during this summer's conference call (recall the comments regarding EPS being amenable to the 'Valence branding' of their cells).

The Barrons writer referred to the SPINOFF of Eveready from Ralston Purina. This is independent of and unrelated to Eveready's sale of its EPS division. (Recall that EPS is the repackaging division of Eveready. Eveready will focus on primary batteries, and only generic consumer rechargeables.)
