Charles - <A few things: - Intel does occasional redeployments - every company in this industry does. The difference is that this is a BIG one - other wise I wouldn't have heard it.> It's hard to comment on redeployments when I don't know the specifics. Intel has had several redeployments recently as older facilities shut down or scale back, and of course, there was the Olympia's facility re-alignment. Here in Oregon, we are anticipating absorbing all fab redeployments, and looking to hire several hundred additional personnel in the near term. So in my world, everything is coming in, and nothing is going out. <- It is kind of like the regular price cuts Intel does - the difference last time was that it was a big one - steeper and earlier than expected.> I'll await the event so I can adequately comment on it. Again, in Oregon people are flushing in, not out. <- It had to do with your comment that K7 was a niche product. I just wanted to point why I believe the senior Intel management thinks otherwise.> I concede this. Of course, the K7 has the potential to not be a niche product, just like the Alpha or Imac does. I'm sure senior management is taking the K7 very seriously. I was just providing analysis beyond the tactics, and attempting to predict the future after all is said and done, and my thoughts in no way reflect senior management's views. <<I do know what we're doing here at Coppermine Central. Ramping.> Good luck. Intel will be needing it come October last week. > If everything keeps tracking, I am relatively confident that Intel will have all the pieces in place to close out the year with a bang. I am not scared of AMD phantom product announcements. Tell me Dresden is shipping product, and I'll be more concerned. PB
