Tomato and all, If your PC hangs when you try to shut down and you're using Windows 98, but not Windows 98 SE (Second Edition), you're not alone. It's a common problem caused by the interaction between Advanced Configuration and Power Interface and the Win98 Fast Shutdown feature. To fix it, just turn off Fast Shutdown. Here's how: Click Start/Programs/Accessories/ System tools/System Information, launch the System Configuration Utility from the Tools menu, click on the General tab, click the Advanced button, then deselect Disable Fast Shutdown.

I found the above tip here...

I had never looked at the 'System Configuration Utility'
before. Very interesting. Must find out what Dr. Watson does.

Tomato, I was prepared to pay $20/month for a decent ISP
without banner ads always on top. I've always paid close
to that. So here I could get this [second] PC almost for
free. It all depends how you do the math. :)

I also have AV as a backup ISP. Check back a week or so.
I believe it was wily who made the banner almost disappear.
I just put it on top to the right, so I can still see the
minimize and x buttons.
