Deutsche Bank, the world's biggest financial services group, will use the technology to offer its customers a new online channel for banking. It will also be the first global bank to announce WAP-based mobile banking in Germany.

Along with consulting on the project, Finnish telecommunications equipment maker Nokia (NOK: news, msgs) will provide its Nokia WAP server and Nokia 7110 media phones.

The WAP industry standard allows product compatability between manufacturers, network operators, content providers and application developers. It also offers secure serves on all digital devices and networks.
