This winter is supposed to be slightly warmer than normal. The past two winters were much warmer than normal.
In other words this winter will be significantly colder than the past two winters.

JimL,
I would characterize the maps showing SST (sea surface temperature) as a weak but growing La Nina. Of course the one forecast for last year did not really materialize. The green blue areas on the SST maps extending from Asia to S America coast indicate lower than normal sea temps which are a La Nina. During La Nina the southern US is warmer and dryer, the northern US is colder.
As far as heating costs the northern US is the one that counts.
I will note that these long range forecasts are tenuous.

BTW, RRC does not seem to be trading and this is a possible news day for it. Is there any news on RRC, is it halted?????

Best Regards,

Roebear
