(BSNS WIRE) -- Department of Defense Transportation Officials Target Safe-T-Bar for Military Bus Use

Business Editors

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1999--The Majestic
Companies, Ltd. (OTCBB:MJXC) is pleased to announce that a Department
of Defense group, the DoDEA (Department of Defense Education
Activity), headquartered in Arlington, Va. has shown a keen interest
in outfitting DoD operated buses with the SAFE-T-BAR bus passenger
restraint system.
Fifteen members of the DoDAE's team, including representatives from The Pacific Rim and European operations were on hand during the recent Western States School Bus Conference in Reno, NV and received an extensive presentation of the SAFE-T-BAR aboard a Company sponsored 84-passenger BlueBird bus.
The group, acting on a specific agenda item to research and recommend a bus passenger restraint system, were impressed with the passive nature and straight-forward design of the SAFE-T-BAR. The
program specialist for the group spent considerable time discussing
the SAFE-T-BAR with Company representatives and requested that all
available information regarding the safety restraint be provided to
their Arlington headquarters.
The Pacific (Asia) group has an immediate interest in the
SAFE-T-BAR as much of their surface transportation network consists of
narrow, winding mountainous terrain. A potential order of SAFE-T-BAR's
for 200 buses exists with this group as indicated by a prior P.O.
taken out with a contractor unable to fill an order for lap-bar styled
restraints.
In a related event, Majestic Transportation recently received a RFQ (request for quotation) from a Pacific Unit of the DoDEA at the Misawa Air Base to equip seventeen buses for transporting school children. Majestic Transportation's President, Adrian Corbett was extremely enthusiastic about the recent events and stated "This is great news, in addition to the tremendous school bus market that exists, the use of SAFE-T-BAR's on military buses opens up a whole new market for the product."
The SAFE-T-BAR is a heavily padded lap-bar occupant restraint system designed for school buses which is similar to the type of restraint commonly found on amusement park rides. The system mounts easily onto all major OEM manufacturer's bus seat designs and is passive in design, meaning that the occupant does not have to actively engage the system for the restraint to be in use.
The SAFE-T-BAR's patent pending design employs a weighted
pendulum device (similar to the design of standard seat belt
retractors) that activates a locking mechanism during the event of an
accident, heavy braking, sudden changes in direction, or bus
rollovers. Additional information on the product can be obtained by
visiting the Company's two internet web sites: www.themcl.com &
