I just managed to get a guy on the phone at schwab, and they got their margin dept to approve my QCOM put order because they saw the size of my account and found several of the larger options sales on the ticker..
I've shorted 10k common QCOM, and bought 300 puts ranging from sep 150 to sep 160. I have no idea when they'll execute, if ever. The exchanges are slower than hell right now. Not just schwab- the exchanges themselves.

I think the stock will have its usual preearnings run. My guess is $210 to $225.

As per cramer, the funds are propping up QCOM until the last day of the month to make their "end of month" statements look better. On the 1st expect a fall.

Doesn't make sense. Why would they stop buying at the end of the month? I can understand wanting the statements to say QCOM on them but most funds keep very little cash on hand and most cash inflows come at the beginning of the month.

I think the short term price depends more upon overall market sentiment than anything else and so far QCOM has been a good place to be invested on the down days. Anyone who can predict the direction of a stock days in advance significantly better than chance would be managing millions of dollars, not writing for the street.com.

On second thought...since cramer said so, I'll just go and short a few 100K shares, since it's a conspiracy of the fund managers to manipulate the market.

Isn't that illegal? hmmm...

I wonder how they do that? It's hard enough to trade a 'regular' market, how do they manipulate a market with everyone double out-guessing each other?

Lost yet? So am I..............................It worked!

So how much are you short? You only get burned shorting this puppy.

Q! is 193 after hours. Guess those fund managers are dumping pretty quick 8-)
