Switzerland has very strict gun control. Sure, everybody has that select-fire SIG in his closet, but it is issued with a sealed brick of ammo, and if that brick is opened in an unauthorized way, you are in deep yogurt with your commanders.
Getting and using sporting arms is no easier than in the rest of continental Europe. It can be done, but there are punitive regs like club memberships, annual license&registry fees etc.
