Gottfried, good progress by Intel, both in current products like Pentium III going to 0.18 (Coppermine) and in Merced, their first 64 bit chip. They will have a slew of new products coming out from Sept. 27 on this year...Coppermines in desktop and notebook configs, new chipsets for Rambus, etc., and the new communications chips sometime. Actually, their plan is to start shipping Coppermines and chipsets to OEMs 9/27 and then the OEMs come out with new systems with them inside Oct. 24. Wonder if Intel has enough equipment? I really haven't heard them express a need to up the ante for equipment. Conference call after 3Q results, which will be Oct. 19 will be one way to find out, and I always listen in. As an Intel shareholder, I have to hope they have planned for enough equip.; but as an AMAT shareholder, hope they buy more.
