Hi:
Thank you Mr.Jobs. Pre-orders for 140000 of the new IBOOK'S
confirms willingness of consumers to pay for quality.
And thanks to Mr Groves for expediting his new chips.
And thanks to the institutions for finally getting their heads
out from "under" and realizing Dell's consistent growth is of value.
Did I miss anyone? A few startled bears, maybe, who are making their limited yearly contributions?
Sig

Kemble....

WHAT IS GOING ON? Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, but I leave for a couple of hours and suddenly we're up over $2/share.

I haven't seen any news that would indicate what happened, the only news of substance was the company that lost Dell as a customer. It that's what did I think DELL should switch all their vendors (or at least rotate them every couple of days.)

Tom

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1999--Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today announced a free upgrade program to Microsoft's Windows(R) 2000 Professional operating system for customers in the Americas who purchase Windows NT(R) Workstation 4.0 (English version) factory-installed on all Dell desktop PCs, notebook PCs and workstations.

The program, valid for purchases made through February 2000, includes all currently shipping OptiPlex(R) and Dimension(R) families of desktops, Dell Inspiron(tm) and Latitude(R) series of notebooks and Dell Precision(tm) WorkStations. Dell is the first company to offer such a comprehensive Windows 2000 free upgrade program across all of its currently shipping personal systems.

Dell is also including with every upgrade the Dell Upgrade Kit, tailored for the customer's system, which includes all required driver and BIOS updates and supporting documentation to help customers implement the new operating system.

"Customers who want to enjoy the benefits of Windows 2000 should not wait until it comes out to get ready," said Joe Marengi, senior vice president and general manager, Dell Relationship Group. "The free upgrade program is the easiest and quickest way for them to make an effective transition to Windows 2000 Professional."

The Windows 2000 Professional free upgrade is the latest initiative in Dell's Windows 2000 Premier Migration Program, which combines a series of services, programs and products to help customers make an easy transition to the new operating system. Current Dell customers who want to assess the readiness of their existing systems for Windows 2000 can access the Dell Windows 2000 Readiness Advisor at www.dell.com/windows2000.
