GeForce 256 > 480Mpixels/s
Savage 2000 > 400Mpixels/s (@ 200Mhz)

Specs of Savage 2000 aren't too far off the GeForce. But w/ 256-bit vs. 128, looks like Nvidia will have significantly higher frame rates at higher resolutions. S3 better have good drivers at the start to stay in the same ballpark.

Nvidia did a good job at execution too - boards out by end of September. Damn...that's pretty fast. Savage 2000 won't be out on shelves until late November/early December. Would it be possible to speed the ramp up?

Anyway, the benchmark comparisons should come out sooner than the release dates. Can't wait to see how these 2 chips perform.
