The big problem is lack of information, I think. I was just on the Internet looking for information on Uzis, but the only useful information I saw was on sites run by people like the NRA and Pete DuPont. You aren't going to convince people who are anti-gun by giving them information from the NRA, it's automatically (no pun intended) suspect. I doubt that anyone who has been taught how to use a gun, and owns guns, is afraid of guns. But the proportion of congressmen who were ever in the military is declining, and I don't think most congresswomen have ever handled a gun, unless they're Republican.;^)
