Matt,

What was your friend trading? Lumber or OJ or something even more obscure?

Matt...commodity futures you are leery of...yet you are interested in
index options. Com. futures are a lot more forgiving than
there cousins the index ops.<ggg>
ps...7 locked limit days is very unusual and has not happened
for awhile. Sounds like he was in either in beans or more
likely long silver when it had its day.
Regardless, good trading to you.

Matt,

I'm sure alot of other people on this board are more knowledgeable then me but here's my 2 points worth.
Lately I have been just trading the DOW using options. I see patterns and trendlines more clearly then say the SPX or the OEX; I really havn't looked at that many indices thou. Also I tend to use the DOW to trade because I get a good feel for how the 'market' is doing to when looking at the DOW and so why not put some of that T.A. time to use and trade it I figure. The spreads can be a little large on the DOW I figure they are about a 4 with 1 being large and 10 being small. I might start trading the OEX or SPX options since lots of volume goes into those two, but I just havn't seen that good of plays yet.
