AGeiche, I think that the Deutsche Bank analyst's estimate of upward revisions in this quarter's E&P earnings is on point, and even maybe a bit conservative.... (From today's Yahoo News Postings under any major oil firm)...

(Excerpt) "The gains also reflected optimism that oil company earnings will grow in the third quarter on the back of higher oil and gas prices.

``Only two-thirds of the way through the third quarter, it is already apparent that oil company earnings will be better than expected,' said Analyst Michael Young at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown.

He said third quarter 1999 earnings are likely to blow through current Wall Street projections, with the average domestic oil company exceeding current First Call Corp. estimates by as much as 30 percent, he added."
