Low PE's were a consequence of slow innovation, thin margins, and the possibility of labor inflation. These factors are, at least temporarily, under control. Innovation is rapid and constant today, margins are expanding (primarily due to low inflation), and labor costs are low (due to stock options - helping on the second point).
Things ARE different today. For how long? Who knows. But they are different for now.
