Aloha Sonki, Funny you should ask, I just ordered Diamond HomeFree from Gigabuys yesterday! Then last night I read a special piece on home networking in the Aug issue of Maximum PC which rated it an 8 on 1 1-10 scale where 10 is the highest rating. I ordered the 2 node kit for about $96. It was ranked second out of 6 phone line networking products tested. The product which ranked 1st got a 9 rating, it was an Intel Anypoint PCI Home networking Kit and was priced @ $79 per node. I don't have ant 1st hand experience but intend to use the kit to link my children's computers (new Dell Dimension XPS T450's, of course, which I recently bought along with an Inspiron 7000). I'll keep you posted on my experience.
BTW the Dimension's arrived 5 days after I ordered them, no small feat since I live in rural Hawaii. The Inspiron won't be here for about another week, according to the phone sales person, who was extraordinarily competent, the demand for notebooks is extremely heavy and they are having a hard time keeping up! Go Dell! (Gee, you suppose it was my recent purchases they accounted for today's action??? <VBG>
