Bobby, for sure you are much better at asking questions in a civil and polite and
non abrasive manner than I, but I feel a duty to counter your approach and
prevent this thread from becoming non distinguishable from the chat room
at the web site of The New Captain Kangaroo.

<<people buying cars with nothing down etc?>>
"... zero percent down and zero percent financing likely boosted
sales of autos sharply..."

Reminds me of car advertisements these two Nissan car dealships would run
in the same newspaper trying to capture the same pool of buters. One put out
the car price as $20,000 plus cash or trade of $2,000. I saw this as meaningless,
but some people were lead to think that something of a "save" was here. As we
know, all they want to happen is to get you into the showroom. The other dealership
saw that "sale" advertisement, and placed in the next days newspaper a "better",
$19,000 plus cash or trade of $3,000
and the next day the other dealership
$18,000 plus cash or trade of $4,000
so I wondered if eventually I would see
$1 plus cash or trade of $21,199
then
FREE plus cash or trade of $22,000

<< I still don't buy the argument that producers are to blame for the demise of gold..the threats of unloading all that gold by the CBers was like playing chicken..I don't
think all of the mining companies were up for that kind of
game..a lot that were went bankrupt>>

Sounds like they are between a rock and a hard place, and tempting to feel
sorry for them and not blame them. But I am that thankfully not very often
type person that sees excuses as horse feathers and gives no slack to those
who get into trouble, as I will say that they are in the sucking situation thru their
own fault, and they will cause others not deserving to be hurt.
