Sometimes you just have to be calm about these things. ATY is an incredible story and I've made almost 400% on it over the last 4 yrs as I increased my position.

But, if quarterly earnings stops growing by at least 20% YoY, and if you think there's another company that is doing better, then by all means... It's your money.

The hard part is that I haven't really seen any other company that is 'cheap' enough to take a really heavy position in. RIM.TO and SNDK are not exactly 'cheap' stocks. (Know of any? Anyone?)

While ATI's competitors are much smaller (and nvda's story looked very interesting, [as does S3 recent S2000+]), there is no clear way to see if there will be a single winner emerging from this. It's not like ATY is going to yield their position easily.

(Deep Sigh) When we made money off the stock, these ATY engineers are geniuses and KY is God's right hand man. Now at the first sign of trouble, the engineers are bums and KY is this obsessed slave-driver who makes crank calls to harrass his suppliers.

Maybe the graphics h/w market itself is at a mature enough stage, and it's time for these players to do something else.

---Over a period of 2 months, halved my position a while ago. But I'm still 14% (ouch 12.5% after today) ATY.---
