Heinz, The long positions to which I referred are based on takeover speculation. One of the things that I expect to see is more merger announcements in the techs in the coming weeks in advance of a downturn. The logic here is that the acquirers will want to use their expanded market caps to make cheap acquisitions through pooling. Since pooling is going to go away next year, there isn't much time to make the cheap acquisitions if the rest of 99 is in the shitter. Method to my madness:-) JXM
