OT:
Here is an article on Mr. Greenspam's Jackson Hole speech on the Fed and asset prices that is worth reading:
Message 11116803

It rips the press coverage (especially my good friend the venerable Alan Abelson), making some useful corrections of it. Also, check out this commentary on AG's accounting genius (or lack thereof):

And here is the estimable Mr. Erdman weighing in on this timely and critical subject:

Regarding some past posts about Quinta and TeraStor.....

Quinta - While Qunita OAW product activity has ended, the technology is spreading out within Seagate (i.e. dual actuators et al) and Quinta remains as a technology center (in San Jose). Now don't forget the IDEMA presentation by Seagates's Bill Watkins a few years ago stating that "the storage race has been won by optical" (I'm paraphrasing here). In other words don't expect the technology to die on the vine. The heads of Seagate's new Consumer Products Group are none other than Quinta's founders Steve Kitrosser and Bob Teal. Do you think they wouldn't hesitate pushing for an optical storage device when they hit on that capacity hungry consumer application?

TeraStor - is alive and at last word was getting well. I expect a significant product demonstration at Comdex in November (finally!!)

OT - Who is the free ISP provider you recommended a few weeks back??

Regards,
LT
