Engineer - Thanks. I finally found the FCC regulations on it (it isn't actually on the FCC site), and you are right. It looks pretty open ended, so theoretically it could compete with PCS. This is potentially bad news for PCS carriers (although I wouldn't stay awake at night). Having said that, I agree with you that I have yet to see anything that would indicate that how MMDS is going to use non-Qualcomm technology to provide cheaper portable broadband than 3g very similar frequencies. The only possible benefit that MMDS has is that they don't have to share data spectrum with those pesky voice users and thus get a somewhat more data optimized system. (Kind of like all those systems specially designed for WLL and which have been such big sellers - NOT!).
