So, in the end IBM didn't really make a mistake? :) I'm amazed at how fast this is all wanting to happen. I went into a CompUSA store for the first time today. I didn't BUY anything. I just wanted to check it out (while my PC was downloading StarOffice). What really stuck out for me was the floor space devoted to shrinkwrapped software. Fully 1/2 of the store was software and counting up their ad pages, 1/2 of ad pages were software as well. I kept wondering what are these folks going to do with all of this floor space (times 277 stores or whatever). Another thing I'm amazed at is how fast sun.com has tooled up for Star downloads and CD media orders. The servers are humming tonight. sun.com -JCJ
