OT - Gary, to watch Island book (in addition to portfolio tracking, news monitoring, live intraday charts w/TA etc) - download Medved QuoteTracker (http://www.quotetracker.com) - if you're running Win95/96/NT4. Of course, watching NITE lately is akin to slow water torture...

Gary, I think you are right about the benefits of a potentially more extensive Merrill relationship. I think the majority of analysts underestimate the potential because they probably aren't familiar with the ML system. But first Merrill would have to acknowledge that it might be worthwhile to outsource some of the functionality necessary to provide a state-of-the-art online trading capability. I'm not sure ML has ruled out the possibility of expanding its market making capability, but I don't see why it would consider that step especially in an environment of asset-based pricing and low commissions.
