C. Kahn, thanks for your nice post and I can see that you are trying to be constructive... however, fwiw I am not trying to get these guys to "take me more seriously"... you may have missed that though. There is sort of a long history on these political threads but to wrap it up for you, I am a full time investor and do a little in politics but need to kill time while I watch and research my portfolio, thats why I am here. I think you joined SI through go2net, is that right? But the other way to belong to SI is to pay $200. and then you can participate in the stock discussions, which is what I mostly do. Most of the people on the stock threads don't come to the coffee shop threads and vice versa I find. There is another thread, "Lets talk about our feelings" where the moderates and liberals generally go, but I don't go there because they delve into religion quite often and that doesn't interest me... therefore I remain as one of only a few moderates/liberals here, that doesn't hate Clinton. I guess what I am trying to say is that I think the lack of respect that these guys feel for me is mutual, and unless one of us is willing to budge it won't change. The fact that there are more of them than me is irrelevant... it just means they are louder, is all. I wouldn't assume that I am in the minority of SI participants however, because I am always on their "most bookmarked hot list" of SI users and none of these conservatives ever are - in fact, I found out recently that lurkers have sent complaints to SI about JLA and others whenever they violate the terms of use on my behalf.
