japan-usa.......boom...bust...

think the writer of the jackson hole article is a bit young and hasn't kept up with history. made it sound like japan bust cycle may be parallel to our current situation. cannot be farther from the truth. japan bust was first since post war expansion....we realized ours with vietnam spending which caused inflation. japan economy has followed our cycles, not preceeded. comments about japanese as consummate savers/hoarders, no different then what our parents did post war...look at japan interest rates, closer to usa rates of the late fifties. amazing how one can claim media wrong on one matter, but correct to substantiate the contra view.....same media...

fed, greenspan, government should not comment on the equity markets. let free market prosper, it did post war, until government got involved in the bottomless pit of vietnam financing...maybe most are too young to remember the chain of events that lead to massive debt...

thanks, ed a.

p.s.........how did we ever survive pre greenspan....and what will we do when he is gone??????
