At the top of the list of people not to trust should be:

1. Anyone who tells you to use your credit cards to buy stock.

2. Anyone who actually DOES use credit cards to buy stock.

3. Anyone who calls other people "scaredy cats."

Of the afore-mentioned, I prefer NVLS. It looks to be heading towards the mid-to-high-40's in the worst case. As for Y2K, I remain skeptical of a Y2K-induced crash. The more likely culprit is the 6% earnings growth projected for the S&P next year and the weaker earnings comparisons after the 3rd quarter.

I had not realized until now that everything you say is self-satire. But to make it perfectly effective, you have to eliminate minor errors (unless, of course, you are making them on purpose). For example:

"ad nauseum"

"Nausea" is a feminine noun and, taking the accusative case with "ad," it becomes "nauseam."

Actually, come to think of it, mistakes like this are an essential part of the persona that you cultivate, so perhaps it would be best to leave them as they are.

In any case, you are a welcome presence on the thread, which at times runs the risk of sounding like a group of several dozen of us beating bongo drums in unison.

PC, you are a king. Not only can you call the (ahem) dips, but your desire to buy said dips appears to have ignited a rally, however short-lived (pronounced with long "i") it may turn out to be. Bravo. <g> -mb
