MNI, thanks for the welcome home! I appreciate your concern about my home, but you would have to know the neighborhood I live in. It's a very close-knit community. One of my sisters and her husband live 2 houses away. There are quite a few retired people who are home all day and feel that it's their duty to keep an eye on not only my house, but every house in the neighborhood. Another factor is that this is a small town and we all know the police on a first name basis. They come to neighborhood picnics, etc. We have lived here for a long time, and have established very good relationships with all of our neighbors. We have learned to look out for each other. It's a shame that in this busy world people don't have the time, or realize the importance of knowing their neighbors. C Kahn

MNI, concerning Akula, I would like to know a young person's view on many of the events that are happening in our world. I try to have an open mind, and see things from other people's point of view. Otherwise I wouldn't bother coming here at all. Sometimes a fresh view that hasn't been jaded can give us hope. I know there are some young people with many problems. But there are also some very smart ones who are not looking for excuses to blame the ills of society on. C Kahn

MNI, I don't feel the need to curb personal conversation either. Because for some of us this is the only way we can keep in touch. I've also observed that many other people communicate in this way. So I don't think it's a problem. People who are not interested can easily go on to the next post. C Kahn
