MSFT short interest ratio dropped like a stone in Aug., a over 50% decrease from the previous month of 1.5. Two factors are contributed to it. 1) Monthly average volumn increased from 21 millions in july to 33 millions in aug. This is in contrast to usually lighter volumns in summer Aug. for most of tech stocks. 2) Short interest dropped from 32 millions in july to 24 millions Aug. This is an unpredictable market, period. I really have to laugh at all the attempts to predict, on various threads on SI. Everybody gets caught with their pants down. I'm not sure WHAT the motive is of a poster who says, I expect the DOW to go to 9800. Based on...what? The one thing we can say is it's the longest bullmarket in history and an exciting bumpy ride and we're still on the ride.
