A little off topic (ref CDMA Subscriber growth):

Yesterday, Tero Wrote: "And BTW - the fastest growing digital standard in the world is now TDMA. According to both Merrill Lynch and Strategis."

And then: "You are reduced to dismissing point blank the market research conducted by leading US companies when you claim that TDMA is not growing faster than CDMA. That's your prerogative. But investors who read Silicon Investor and only get the orthodox "CDMA über alles" party line are going to be making decisions based on a textbook case of cognitive dissonance."

And then, in a press release 24 hours later, the CDG reports:

"CdmaOne Remains the fastest Growing Wireless Standard in History"

The reports that Tero sites (Strategis) estimated CDMA Subscriber growth last quarter to be 18%, 2nd to TDMA's estimated 20%. Actual CDMA subscribers (for that quarter) increased 23%. Strategis was close, and reasonable in their estimate - just not accurate.

One more thing Tero, if you would, (I apologize but I couldn't extract an answer to my GSTRF question from your post), could you please choose one of the following for the record?

1. - I think GSTRF will succeed (for investors, using your $30 as a base)

2. - I think GSTRF will not succeed (for investors, using your $30 as a base)

3. - I can't decide.

Kiitos (Thanks).

I was already assuming, that the start of Globalstar services in our region will not be in scheldule. Otherwise, Radiolinja will be able to give more detailed information about the service by now. I agree also, that in current situation in Finland and Estonia, where at least Estonia is fully covered with three GSM operators, there is no actual need for SAT phone here. At least the usage pricing must compete with roaming. But if I will move to live to some cheapest and warmest country (somewhere in pacific island or central america), the SAT phone is a must even now. As our GSM networks have built to be in operation 3-5 years, the question in our region will be - what next. Investing to new land-based network, when there is existing satellite based network? Because our phones will be used then more as we use PC's now, the data transfer speed and very-low usage price will be an issue. For me the revolutionary idea will be to include MP3 player and real player into mobilephone. Imagine, how much usage this will increase, when people are downloading the MP3 files, instead of ordering CD-ROM's to be manufactured and shipped or watching global TV news from the phone screen (RealNetworks G2 quality fits exactly to small phone screen).
