That's exactly right. What's the metric touted (besides sales) by net companies like amzn, ebay, yahoo, etc?: The number of total registered users. That and page views per day. And then they won't disclose the number of inactive accounts. They should take any account not active in the past 12 months, and remove it from the total number of registered users that they report to the investment community.
