ATY...

Just as a point of interest, ATY broke a major support
level ($15) last year on 29-Sep-98 on relatively heavy volume.
From that level the shareprice dropped almost 25% to around
$11.50. Technically, ATY is going through the same pattern
as one year ago. I'm imagining a 25% correction to around $15
before a dead-cat to around $19-$20.

Hope you guys don't mind...just thinking outloud.

RESEARCH ALERT-Merrill cuts rating on
ATI Tech

NEW YORK, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Merrill Lynch said on Wednesday it cut its rating on ATI Technologies Inc. (Toronto:ATY.TO - news)(Nasdaq:ATYT - news) to near-term accumulate from buy.

On Tuesday, ATI, the world's biggest maker of graphic chips for computers and games, announced it had lost a chip supply deal with Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq:DELL - news) which will cost it $10 million in sales per quarter.

-- No further details were available.

-- Shares of ATI were trading down 1/2 at 11-1/2 on Wednesday morning on Nasdaq.
