Tim, It's no surprise that analysts can have differing agendas. A couple examples isn't really definitive. I do wonder if Faye Landes would share her TWP colleague's enthusiasm for ETYS if she were following it.

In general, companies and analysts tend to embrace or disparage certain stats based on whether they turn out to be beneficial or not.

Getting back to the article's customer account growth and revenue stats: How would you interpret Henry Blodget's July move with BNBN. He lowered his incremental account estimate for 2000 by 18% and raised his revenue per account estimate by 14%. The end result was a 0.2 million reduction in his 2000 revenue estimate. All of this came after the company "blew away" his estimates for 2Q99 and he raised his 2H99 revenue expectations by 15%.
