I don't recall interpreting it as a pun when I read it, but that was several years ago. Its worth re-reading. Why are we supposed to contemplate emptiness? It strikes me as rather nihilistic.

I'm sure Mr. Lama is a nice man, but IMHO he is on the same level as Baba Ram Dass, Dr. Robert Schuller, and Tony Robbins. They make one feel good for a little while, but ultimately there is no there, there.
